I
then took out the two bottem screws that hold the servo
tray in and the two front landing strut screws. Then
slide the shroud extension in.Make the top of the shroud extension match with the bottom edge of the built in fan shroud. Fold the shroud extension at the top so that the angle causes it to be parallel with the engine heat sink. With it in the right position, use a small drill bit to drill through the screw holes. You may then need to trim any excess pieces sticking out. |
Make the
glow plug hole large enough for your glow plug wrench to
get in there. |
Here you
can see the top ear of the shroud extension is between
the fram and the lower radio tray hole. |
The
shroud wraps around the side to keep the air flow close
to the head. |
| I have tested a new "easy to
find/use" material for the Fan shroud extension. I
made it out of an overhead film aimed for use in
laserprinters. It is heat resistant and thicker/stiffer
than ordinary overheadfilm. I modified the design with a
new 10 mm area above the upper 10mm parts. This new area
is made as a tounge that is slotted into the narrow slit
between the servo holder frame and the main frame. This
stiffens up the shroud extension a good deal. The
transparant overhead film is nearly not visible on the
heli but does the job. Carl-Olof Sandberg |
