How to change the clunk line

Click <here> for the fuel tank assembly page in the manual.

1. Remove all fuel from the tank.
2. Remove the fuel line and the pressure line. I generally like to remove the pressure line from the tank end because the end on the muffler is exposed to a lot of heat and can become stiff, and you can cause damage to it when removing it.
3. Remove the back/right screw that goes in the skid and to the frame. This will allow you to pull out on the frame and give the needed clearance to pull the tank out the back.
4. Pull the fuel nipple out, it will be a little difficult so work it side to side. Do not clamp down on it with pliers because you will crush it. You could also use a flat blades screwdriver to pry it up but be careful not to cut the rubber grommet.
5. Remove the rubber grommet.
6. Now that you have the line out, cut off a new piece of fuel tubing (I use blue Aerotrend) to the same length as the old one.
7. Install the clunk on the new line followed by the rubber grommet with the small side toward the clunk, then the fuel nipple.
8. Place the clunk in the tank then push the rubber grommet in place. Then apply a drop of fuel to the rubber grommet and push the fuel nipple in place. Now test the configuration. Turn the tank upside down and make sure the clunk does not touch the back of the tank. If it does then take it back out and trim the clunk line.
9. Push the tank back into the frames and re-install the fuel and pressure lines.
10. Re-install the back/right skid screw.
