| <under construction>What to check: Make sure you check the main shaft bearings. To check them take the four links off the bottom of the swashplate and the one bolt in the bottom of the main shaft (auto hub). Now pull the head up and out. Unwrap the belt from the main gear and remove it. Now you can feel of the bearings. If the are smooth then they are good, notchy... bad. Also pull on all of the links, if one pops off
without much force then the link is cracked and needs to
be replaced. Most repairs can be done in 30-60 minutes.
Remember to lube the dampeners and spindle shaft when you
install them. Oh yeah, check the tail case for any cracks,
it is probably fine but I have seen a few of them damaged
if the tail hits hard. |
