Raptor 90se assembly
manual
Step 1-1 [click here for index]
Step 1:
Note:
The carbon frame plates are not in bag A, it is in seperate
bubble wrap bag with no label.
Place the plastic guides in the carbon plates. I found they are a
tight fit and I had to use the handle of a screw driver to push
the guide in place.

Step 2: Insert
the long bolt with round head (item 2) in middle hole first.
Install this from the back side of the plate as shown in the
picture on the right. Put a short piece of fuel tubing on the
long bolt to hold it in place (as shown in the picture to the
right). This will keep the bolt in place until you later place
the canopy post on it..
Step 3: Before installing the right plate insert the cross member tube (item 4) on the left plate. Put blue loctite on the nut and use an 8mm wrench to tighten it. Note that in this step there are two frame spacers that the manufacturers manual indicates installing in this section. One is at the front-bottom and the other is at the back-bottom. Since there is nothing to hold them in place I do not see how you are suppose to install them so for now just set them aside and keep up with them.
Step 4: Build just one side of the assembly. Start with the
left plate. Bolt the starter block to the left plate using two
bolts at the top. The bottom bolts will be installed in a later
step. Notice that the holes in the plate allow the bolt to be
slide, this is used to adjust the gear mesh later. For now slide
the bolt/starter block all the way forward. Tip: I had to replace
the thick washers (item 3) used on the bolts going into the top
of the starter shaft bearing block with some thin washers. Later
when installing the carbon pitch arm I found that the head of
these bolts were slightly rubbing on it. When using the BK0087
washers the distance from head to head is 44.8mm and the inside
distance on the carbon pitch arm was measured as 45.0mm. I
installed some standard thickness flat washers and now the
distance is 42.92mm.
Next bolt the top bearing block to the left plate. Note that the
bolts holding the bearing in place need to be pointed down. Note
again that the two frame spacers (item 7 and the one not labeled
in front of the clutch bell) are not installed at this time.
There is nothing to hold them in place so just keep up with them
for now.
Step 5: Sit
the elevator lever that was built in step 1-1-5 in position, not
that the label on the links should be pointed outward and that
the side of the elevator lever with the longer pivot point will
go on the right side. Now bolt the right frame plate on. Begin
with the two bolts then go into the main shaft bearing block.
Install the nut on the cross member (item 4) and put the bolts in
the top of the starter bearing block. Note again to use flat
washers instead of the BK087 washers.
