Start with bag 600NH
This contains the rotor head parts. The first step is to install
the thrust bearings in the blade grips. It is critical that you
get the bearings in the correct direction otherwise not only will
this cause problems with the blades going out of track but you
will also notice the grip has a lot of resistance when you try to
pivot it. Don't worry, it is not difficult just something you
need to pay attention to so lets begin.
From the main bag 600NH remove the smaller bag 600NH1.
First look at the bearings that are installed in the blade grips.
Check that the bearings are flush with the back side of the grips.
On the inside of the grip visually examine that the bearing is
not crooked as well as look for any pieces of plastic left over
from the molding process. If you have to get this bearings out
for any reason use and allen wrench from the opposite side to
push it out. Like in the included picture.

Open the even smaller bag 600NH1A. This contains the bearings
we will install in each blade grip as well as the balls and blade
grip bolts. Here it is good to have a small container to dump the
parts into.

From this bag we will install the link ball first. Make sure that
as you turn it that it does not wobble and that is goes straight
inline with the post on the grip. The manual says to use a very
small amount of CA glue on the tip of the screw. Install the
second ball on the other grip the same way.

Next we do the thrust bearings. Here's a tip: To install the
bearings I find it much easier to use the spindle shaft from bag
600NH2. Look at the picture, here you see I put the bearings on
the shaft temporily. No loctite on the bolt during this stage.

You will notice that one of the thrust washers has 'IN' wrote on
it. This is a nice feature that Align has done to help prevent
people from installing them in the wrong direction. Place this
one on the spindle shaft first with the flat side with the word 'IN'
toward the middle of the shaft.
Next apply some
grease to the track on the opposite side of this thrust washer.
The grease is in bag 600NZ, sub bag 50HZ006. It is a red gel in a
smaller square bag, not a bottle. Just cut the corner from the
bag. Apply a small amount to the groove.
Next install the
cage of balls with the open end against the 'IN' thrust washer.
The reason is so that it will retain the grease as centrifugal
force will try to sling it out if installed backwards.

Next place the other smaller inside diameter thrust washer on.
The grooved side needs to be against the balls. Next you see I
put the allen bolt for the spindle shaft on to hold the thrust
bearing together. I did not tighten it nor did I install the
washer for that bolt. This is just temporary.

Now take the larger 10mm washer and slide it on the spindle shaft
from the other direction. Stick the spindle shaft in the blade
end of the grip and pull the grip ends apart so you can get the
thrust bearings in. Yes, this is a little tough, the grips angle
inward on the blade end. Now use an allen wrench to push the
assembly into the grip. You may notice that it hits a section
that makes you think the bearing is in but then with a little
more pressure it slips and then seats all the way in. See the
pictures, the outside thrust washer is a little under being flush
with the grip. Unscrew the bolt and remove the shaft. Now do the
other grip the same way.
We are done with the grips, that wasn't so bad was it...
