I used materials that are very
easy to find such as plastic folder, CD case, disketes,
etc. Tools used for the project were box cutter, CA glue,
drills, and a paper office punch. |
Cut this from a CD case.
It will be used to give the instruments a glass look. |
Using the same ouline as
you did for the previous panel, cut out a panel from a
plastic folder. This part will be glued on top of the
glass panel. |
 The EFIS (electronic
flight instrumental system) and other instruments can be
framed in black by cutting these parts out of the case
from a 3 1/2" computer floppy diskette. |
Now for the instruments, just
print them out on you computer using normal paper. The
paper is thin enough that lights placed behind them will
light them up. Use adhesive tape to stick them to the
back side of the clear panel you cut out in the first
step. |
  Here are some completed
pictures of the instrument panel. Note the engine and
auxliliar systems sub panel details. |
 For the
final detail I made the top instrument panel and
installed LED's in the back for the battery check and
charge system (robbe) as well as the other instruments. |
